Privacy Policy

Look, we're gonna be straight with you

Running an architecture studio means we collect some info about you - mostly when you reach out or hire us for a project. We're not here to sell your data or spam you with junk. This policy breaks down what we gather, why we need it, and how we keep it safe. Think of it as the blueprint for how we handle your personal stuff.

What we actually collect

When you fill out our contact form or send us an email, we'll grab the basics - your name, email, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your project. If we end up working together, yeah, we'll need more detailed stuff like property info, design preferences, budget ranges, that kind of thing.

Our website also picks up some technical bits automatically - IP addresses, browser type, pages you visit, how long you hang around. Standard web analytics stuff to help us figure out if our site's working properly or if it's a mess.

Why we need your info

Pretty straightforward really. We use your contact details to actually get back to you about projects, consultations, or questions. Can't design your space if we can't reach you, right? For clients, we need project-specific info to create designs that actually work for your needs and budget.

Sometimes we'll send updates about our work or industry news, but only if you've said that's cool with you. We're not about flooding inboxes - we barely have time to send newsletters anyway.

How we protect your data

We take security seriously. Your info lives on secure servers with proper encryption. Our team's trained on data protection, and we limit access to only the folks who actually need it for your project. We're not perfect - no one is - but we've got solid systems in place and we keep 'em updated.

Physical files? Locked cabinets in our Vancouver studio. Digital stuff? Password-protected and backed up securely. We're architects who've designed plenty of security systems, so trust us, we get it.

Who sees your information

We don't sell or rent your data. Period. That said, sometimes we work with contractors, engineers, or consultants on projects, and they might need relevant details to do their part. They're bound by similar privacy commitments though.

We use some third-party services - email platforms, analytics tools, cloud storage - that might process your data. We pick reputable providers who meet Canadian privacy standards. If the law requires us to share info (like court orders or regulatory compliance), we'll do what's legally necessary.

Cookies and tracking stuff

Yeah, we use cookies - the digital kind, not the edible ones (though those are around the office too). They help us understand how people use our site and remember your preferences if you've visited before. Most browsers let you block cookies, but some features might not work as smoothly if you do.

We use Google Analytics to see traffic patterns and user behavior. It's anonymized data that helps us improve the site experience. If that bugs you, there are browser plugins that block analytics tracking.

Your rights and choices

You've got control here. Wanna see what info we have on you? Just ask. Want it corrected, deleted, or transferred somewhere else? We can do that (within legal limits). Not interested in our occasional emails? Unsubscribe anytime - there's a link in every message, or just email us directly.

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you've got specific rights about your personal information. If you think we've messed something up, you can file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We'd prefer you talk to us first though - we're reasonable people and we'll sort it out.

How long we keep stuff

We keep client project data for at least seven years - that's standard practice in architecture for liability and warranty reasons. General inquiries and contact form submissions? We'll typically keep those for a year or two unless there's an ongoing conversation.

Once the retention period's up, we securely delete or anonymize the data. Portfolio images from completed projects might stick around longer since they're part of our work history, but we'll always get client permission before using project photos publicly.

Changes to this policy

We might update this policy from time to time - new laws, changed practices, better tech. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here. For major changes, we'll probably send an email to active clients or contacts. It's worth checking back occasionally if you're curious.

Questions or concerns?

If something in here doesn't make sense or you've got questions about how we handle your data, just reach out. We're at studio@blazrenthforgequint.info or call us at +1 (604) 555-0142. Our office is at 1420 West Georgia Street, Suite 800, Vancouver, BC V6G 2Z3 if you prefer the old-fashioned face-to-face approach.

We're architects, not lawyers, so we've tried to keep this as clear as possible without the excessive legalese. Bottom line: we respect your privacy, we follow the rules, and we're here to design great spaces - not mess around with your personal info.
